International shipping update + SHERLOCK HOLMES 🔍

Hi everyone!

We hope everyone is doing well and having a nice holiday season so far! We've been waiting on some news from the various International shipping hubs, but the holidays seem to making things extra-crowded in the shipping channels this year, so getting confirmation on things has been more difficult than usual. While all domestic/North American and Asian orders of GIANTESS have gone out (and hopefully all received by now), it is taking longer than expected for the EU/UK freight to reach Spiral Galaxy and the AU/NZ freight to reach Aetherworks. We expect Spiral should receive everything on Monday, but there hasn't been any update on the tracking, so we're keeping our fingers crossed.  If they do receive it as expected, we're hoping they'll be able to get EU/UK orders out by the end of the month (but we recognize that's a tall expectation with Christmas and New Year...)

Aetherworks should receive their freight at their US stateside consolidation warehouse shortly. It is then up to them to get that stock transferred to their warehouse in Australia for packing, however. Since that consolidation is meant to collect multiple projects' worth of freight to maximize their shipping container, we have no way of knowing exactly when that transfer will take place. It seems like that occurs every couple of weeks, however, so hopefully it won't take long to get there.

We will, of course, keep you updated as we get news from either hub. If you are a domestic or Asia backer and haven't received your order or tracking information at least, please message us here and we'll look into it for you. Please note that ZARKASS and BLACK WATER LILIES are also shipping with pledge orders for GIANTESS, so the shipping information will be the same for both campaigns.

In the meantime, we haven't mentioned it here yet, but you may have seen it pop up in messages or recommendations from Kickstarter or Backerkit -- our SHERLOCK HOLMES campaign ends this Friday!

This is a new edition of the first Sherlock Holmes novel by Arthur Conan Doyle originally published in 1887, with brand new illustrations by the magnificent Vincent Mallie. It is a beautiful book, which we are offering on its own or as part of two campaign-exclusive limited editions: a special "Sleuth" bundle with a replica Key to Holmes’s infamous address on 221B Baker Street, a Magnifying Glass, a Pocket Journal, a gold foil bookmark, and other assorted artifacts collected inside a unique manila case folder, and a Deluxe Slipcase Set pairing this new book with a copy of Vincent Mallie's similarly illustrated edition of ARSENE LUPIN, GENTLEMAN THIEF!

Both of these exclusive editions will only be produced in limited quantities for this Kickstarter campaign, and they will not be available anywhere else. These will be gorgeous sets (we think we're getting better with each slipcase we produce) and there are less than 200 copies left! (And less than 2 days left to join!)

Domestic orders are on their way!

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update to let our Domestic US backers know that your packages have left the building*! You should receive tracking information from qmlogistics.com and/or Backerkit soon if you haven't already. Apparently, the boxes left the facility a day or two ago, and in fact, some of you may have even gotten yours -- we received ours yesterday. (We submitted an order for ourselves along with the rest of the pledges as a test so we can share the shipping experience with the rest of you.)

If you haven't received a tracking number by email, you can check your Backerkit page to see if it has been entered there. PLEASE NOTE: If you combined your GIANTESS and ZARKASS/BWL pledges into a single shipment, you may only see the single tracking number on one or the other campaign Backerkit for now. So, for example, if you don't see a tracking number on your GIANTESS Backerkit, it might be on your ZARKASS Backerkit. We're working on how to update the "piggybacking" order data, but there's a bit of manual work involved...

*There are about 18 domestic US orders that are on hold as QML discovered they were short a couple of items, but we are having those shortages filled from our main warehouse immediately, so those orders should go out as soon as that transfer is complete (hopefully next week).

Canadian orders are currently on their way to the postal forwarder (in Ontario, I think). We won't have tracking numbers until that service has received and processed them, which will hopefully also be next week.

International Orders are on their way to their regional hubs now: Spiral Galaxy for EU/UK orders, Aetherworks for AU/NZ orders, and VFI for Asia. Each of those regions has the added step of freight travel to reach those hubs first, so we aren't able to give a precise delivery estimate for those orders yet, but if things go smoothly, we would like to believe that all three hubs will be able to get their orders out the door in early December. We will, of course, keep you posted.

Hi everyone!

A really quick update to let everyone know that ADDRESS VERIFICATION EMAILS HAVE BEEN SENT TO ALL DOMESTIC (North American) BACKERS! Please check your email (and spam filters) for a message from [email protected] with the subject "Please verify your GIANTESS and ZARKASS pledge address!" This is the last chance to make any changes to your shipping address, as QML will begin shipping next week!

I apologize for the short notice, we hoped they would have given us a heads-up before they were sent, but we just found out that they were sent on FRIDAY with a deadline of 8am EST TOMORROW (Monday). 😬

If you miss that deadline by a few hours or a day and need to change your address, please message us ASAP and we'll see if we can squeeze that through directly. No guarantees, but we will do everything we can to help. 😊

On the shipping front...

Quartermaster was fully prepared to send out Address Verification Notification emails this week as preparation to start shipping next week... But then Hurricane Ian showed up and forced everyone there to shelter in place for a big chunk of the week. 😓 The storm passed directly over their primary warehouse in Orlando, and we're waiting to hear how they fared. We're hoping they were spared from the chest-deep flash-flooding seen in other parts of central Flordia...  😳

I know that mental image might make some of you nervous (we are certainly holding our breath awaiting news as the dust settles), but we're praying that they escaped unharmed and can resume business next week. Of course, if anything tragic did unfold with their inventory, we'll take proper measures to compensate your orders accordingly. But we're staying optimistic and appreciate your support and patience while the situation is evaluated.

In the meantime -- you've got Ambassador Points!

If you missed the mention on the campaign page, every pledge includes a number of Ambassador Points equivalent to their final order total (including postage). What are Ambassador Points?  They are reward points that can be collected and redeemed for discount codes on our webstore, and a great way to further support Magnetic Press (while building up a collection of cool books at a great price in the process)!

If you are already a webstore customer and part of the program, just log into your webstore account (which should be the same email address as your Kickstarter/Backerkit account). You should see those new points added to your balance under the heading "GIANTESS Kickstarter Points."

Let me start off by apologizing for the long wait for the digital rewards. Frankly, we should have had these to you a couple of weeks ago, but we found ourselves preoccupied with so many things happening at once that those items fell off our radar. That is a failure on my part, and I thank you for your patience!

That said -- DIGITAL REWARDS HAVE NOW BEEN ADDED TO BACKERKIT!

If you are set to receive any digital rewards, you should receive an email from Backerkit shortly with your links. You can also simply log into your backer kit at https://giantess.backerkit.com/ where you should see a big blue button in the middle of the page that says "Get Your Digital Downloads." Click on that button to find all of your digital items waiting for you. They are primarily Gumroad links with discount codes to receive those PDFs for free. The Backerkit links include instructions for how to access those files with your discount code.

The campaign met it's goal in the first 6 hours but has slowed down a bit, primarily because of our inexperience in the tabletop category -- it is a completely different audience and we think the awesome comic aspect might be lost in that category.
